Batch Converting
If you’ve got a lot of movies to convert from one format to another, make sure you look for products which offer ‘batch processing’.
What’s Batch Processing?
This process will save a lot of time, because it allows you to use the power of your computer to multitask and to convert many movies quickly. Select all files you want to convert and the software will automatically convert them one by one.
You’ll see percentage bars to show the process of each video you’re converting. Often if you’ve got a number of home movies, or a series of videos you’ve downloaded that need to be converted, batch conversion is a must-have.
Batch Processing Is NOT Multi-Threading
This is something that confuses a lot of folks. Batch processing does not mean ‘converting a lot of movies at the same time’. That’s known as multi-threading. A tool might batch or multi-thread, or both.

Give your computer batch processing jobs late at night, or while you go out. That way it can use your full system’s resources and when you get back to your PC, it’ll all be done for you. Leaving your computer running jobs – even all night – is perfectly normal. And a great way to convert your movies.
