But, according to an internal Verizon document, the BlackBerry PlayBook could lack a native email at launch.

The BlackBerry PlayBook can be used in conjunction with a BlackBerry smartphone or it can be used on its own (i.e. standalone).

The BlackBerry Bridge feature creates a secure Bluetooth link between a BlackBerry PlayBook tablet and BlackBerry smartphone allowing BlackBerry smartphone users to view and interact with the email, BBM and PIM apps on their BlackBerry smartphone using the larger BlackBerry PlayBook screen.

In addition, users can access their email via the BlackBerry PlayBook’s web browser without any need for a BlackBerry smartphone.

In a future software update for the BlackBerry PlayBook, we will also provide native e-mail, calendar, and contact apps for those customers who prefer to have these apps directly on the tablet.

Bottom line: You can rest assured that Research in Motion will bring out the email application eventually.

RIM’s BlackBerry Developer Conference is going down this week in San Francisco, RIM announced a host of new tools and services for its developers, Also announced at the event were additional features for taking payment for premium services, an improved set of tools for building HTML-based applications, and a new enterprise application framework. Here’s a roundup of what’s what:
WebWorks development platform. It’s basically a quick way for web devs to get into the BlackBerry app game by offering a tightly-integrated platform for HTML5, CSS, and JavaScript code with hooks to native BlackBerry OS functions and a packager for turning them into “real” BlackBerry apps.

BlackBerry Messenger Social Platform. RIM’s historically held BBM very close to the chest, but it’s starting to open up a tad with this particular announce. Don’t look for BBM on other platforms, but third-party app developers will now be able to tap into the system for sending and receiving messages, files, user profiles, and invitations.

BlackBerry Advertising Service. Google bought AdMob and Apple bought Quattro, but RIM’s taking a more democratic approach to its advertising platform, allowing both “simple” and “rich media” ads to be served from a handful of providers “with only three lines of code.” It’ll be a 60 / 40 revenue split between devs and RIM.

BlackBerry Payment Service SDK. This one’s launching in beta this week, bringing third-party in-app payments over credit card, PayPal, and carrier billing (available on AT&T right now, more carriers by the end of the year). It’ll be out of beta before 2010’s out.
Nothing on the so-called BlackPad so far, but at any rate, seems like this roundup is great news for anyone looking to slide some content into App World over the next few months.

You just try to get the timing perfect: set the date, press releases go out, online content is ready and set to be published on the right date, the poster boards are made and the window stickers are ordered, all to go up on that one date. And then one person gets confused, hits publish too soon and all that planning and careful organization goes down the drain. Ok, maybe it wasn’t quite that bad, but the BlackBerry Curve 8900 went up for sale online from AT&T a day before it was supposed to be released. Details after the jump.

There’s no reason to complain if a cool phone goes on sale a little early. While one day doesn’t make that much of a difference, it does give the blogosphere something to buzz about. The Curve 8900 is for sale online for $200 after a $100 mail-in rebate.

The latest from RIM, the Curve 8900 sports voice-guided GPS, Wi-Fi (free at AT&T hotspots … with an unlimited data plan) and, according to Boy Genius Report an OS 4.6.1 instead of 5.0. A little disappointing considering the slick features and design on this smartphone, but it probably won’t be enough to deter potential buyers. The 3.88-ounce 8900 looks like it has enough features to be more than just your phone, it could be your life.

Since Google released G1 and claimed that they will have a share of the big market of smart phone. It is the first phone to the market that uses the Android mobile device platform.

The BlackBerry is a wireless handheld device. which supports push e-mail, mobile telephone, text messaging, internet faxing, web browsing and other wireless information services as well as a multi-touch interface. It si developed by RIM.

So, which is better about BlackBerry and GPhone? That maybe asked by many people who want to buy a new phone. Compare these two phones in three aspects, hardware, software, and their performance as a media player.

GPhone VS BlackBerry

Hardware:

1. The price – The price and storage memory is what user concern most. For GPhone $179 1GB, you will pay another $40 for an 8GB SD Card. RIM BlackBerry Bold 9000 is $619.99, Blackberry Curve 8300 is $245 to $300, and Blackberry Pearl 8100 is $165 to $299. So I think GPhone win in this round.

2. Mobile Network – For mobile Network, they both have Quad Band GSM/EDGE UMTS. but GPhone uses T-Mobile-only US 3G and BlackBerry uses AT&T-only US 3G.

3. Touch screen and input – G1 uses keyboard, Trackball, 6 buttons and touch screen. BlackBerry series support multi-touch interface and keyboard. In expansion ports, both the phone can use SDcard and USB.

Software:

GPhone and BlackBerry are both designed to deliver on-the-go Internet service that can keep up with your busy life. G1 has Android Market as its third party software store while BlackBerry has BlackBerry Store. G1 supports music playback while BlackBerry is a power media player. G1’s platform is Modified Java development and BlackBerry uses Java.

The performance:

G1 supports H.264, 3GPP, MPEG4, Codec 3GP video and MP3, AAC, AAC+, WMA, MPEG4, WAV, MIDI, REAL, AUDIO, OGG audio formats.
BlackBerry supports MPEG4 H.263, MPEG4 Part 2 Simple Profile, H.264, WMV (Video format support) and MP3, AAC, AAC+, eAAC+, WMA, WMA ProPlus (Audio format support).
