Since Google released G1 and claimed that they will have a share of the big market of smart phone. It is the first phone to the market that uses the Android mobile device platform.

The BlackBerry is a wireless handheld device. which supports push e-mail, mobile telephone, text messaging, internet faxing, web browsing and other wireless information services as well as a multi-touch interface. It si developed by RIM.

So, which is better about BlackBerry and GPhone? That maybe asked by many people who want to buy a new phone. Compare these two phones in three aspects, hardware, software, and their performance as a media player.

GPhone VS BlackBerry

Hardware:

1. The price – The price and storage memory is what user concern most. For GPhone $179 1GB, you will pay another $40 for an 8GB SD Card. RIM BlackBerry Bold 9000 is $619.99, Blackberry Curve 8300 is $245 to $300, and Blackberry Pearl 8100 is $165 to $299. So I think GPhone win in this round.

2. Mobile Network – For mobile Network, they both have Quad Band GSM/EDGE UMTS. but GPhone uses T-Mobile-only US 3G and BlackBerry uses AT&T-only US 3G.

3. Touch screen and input – G1 uses keyboard, Trackball, 6 buttons and touch screen. BlackBerry series support multi-touch interface and keyboard. In expansion ports, both the phone can use SDcard and USB.

Software:

GPhone and BlackBerry are both designed to deliver on-the-go Internet service that can keep up with your busy life. G1 has Android Market as its third party software store while BlackBerry has BlackBerry Store. G1 supports music playback while BlackBerry is a power media player. G1’s platform is Modified Java development and BlackBerry uses Java.

The performance:

G1 supports H.264, 3GPP, MPEG4, Codec 3GP video and MP3, AAC, AAC+, WMA, MPEG4, WAV, MIDI, REAL, AUDIO, OGG audio formats.
BlackBerry supports MPEG4 H.263, MPEG4 Part 2 Simple Profile, H.264, WMV (Video format support) and MP3, AAC, AAC+, eAAC+, WMA, WMA ProPlus (Audio format support).
